The Italian Studies Program proudly presents a lecture by Dr. Brendan Hennessey (SUNY Binghamton) titled "Romans Decomposed: Senescence and Decline in the New Italian Cinema" on March 17, 2016 at 5pm in the Idea Accelerator in Falvey Library!
Dr. Hennessey’s current book focuses on neorealist director Luchino Visconti, and explores the relationship between formalism and realism in the postwar Italian blockbuster. His scholarly interests include: auteur and popular cinema, the modern novel, representations of technology, theories of adaptation, and Italian American cultural studies.
