Alumni Stories: Vincent Ventura (Italian Studies Major Class of 2015)
After graduation, Vincent Ventura (’15) found a rare opportunity to live in Italy and work at Expo Milano 2015, the latest world’s fair. With dual degrees in Italian Studies and Communication, Vincent was selected (alongside 120 other university students through an online application) to represent the US Department of State and serve as a cultural diplomat. With the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, Vincent learned about the ethics and global challenges associated with food production and discussed these topics with guests visiting the USA Pavilion. Additionally, his responsibilities included leading tours in both English and Italian, translating live events, publishing blog entries, and even singing in a student-led a cappella group. “Without my experiences at Villanova, I would not have the skills to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event,” he says. “It wouldn’t have been possible.” Vincent is an alumus of both the Urbino Study Abroad Program (Summer 2012) and the Villanova Vatican Internship Experience (Spring 2014).
